ARC D6 eurorack synthesizer module
ARC’s D6 is a 3hp pseudorandom logic generator that models rolling a six sided die. When a pulse is sent to the "roll" input, one of the six outputs goes high (approx 6v). This logic high is held until another pulse is sent to "roll."
The D6 is a built on 20th century CMOS technology - no code, no firmware, no microcontrollers. Output 3 and 4 have a higher chance of being rolled than outputs 1, 2 and 5, 6. It is possible that the same output is rolled on consecutive pulse inputs, in which case no change to the high logic output will be noted.
Add indeterminacy to your patches, or several D6 can be patched in an analogue computer to automate dice rolling for tabletop roleplaying games like Shadowrun... I guess?
